AAPI: Rekkache discusses investment and partnership opportunities with the Omani Trade Minister
According to an AAPI press release, yesterday Sunday in Algiers, the Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, received the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, Qais Bin Mohammed Al Youcef, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Algiers and a delegation of businessmen, with whom he examined investment and partnership opportunities in several sectors.
The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) welcomed an Omani delegation as part of strengthening bilateral cooperation with the Oman Investment Authority. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange expertise on improving the business climate and monitoring investment projects launched after the Algerian President's visit Oman last October.
Several projects were discussed, including a maritime freight line between the two countries, a partnership in the automotive industry with Hyundai Motors, a project to expand the ammonia and urea plant in Oran with Sonatrach and Suhail Bahwan Group, and an aluminium foundry in Jijel. A joint fishing fleet project was also discussed.
The Omani minister visited the one-stop shop for major projects, underlining the desire of both parties to strengthen coordination and speed up the implementation of priority projects. AAPI reaffirmed its role in actively supporting Omani investors in Algeria.
