Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, organised a seminar in Algeria on November 12 to strengthen business links between Irish suppliers and North African companies in the dairy, meat and livestock sectors. The aim of the seminar was to enable an Irish delegation to study the Algerian market and explore local business opportunities. Bord Bia also arranged visits to farms and factories near Algiers to help Irish exporters better understand Algeria's livestock and dairy industries.

Algeria accounted for around 11% of Ireland's food and drink exports to Africa in 2023, worth €95 million, making it the second largest African market for Ireland after Nigeria.
