Selected by the ICE Algiers office, the Algerian delegation will benefit from an intensive program that includes specialized training sessions, company visits, and BtoB meetings with key Italian players in the sector. These exchanges aim to strengthen cooperation between both countries, particularly through adopting the latest madeinitaly technologies.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister for Made in Italy, Mr Adolfo Urso, and the President of ICE, Mr Matteo Zoppas. This underlined the importance of this event for the global marble industry.
In addition, Algeria is continuing its ambitious approach by developing a project for a technological centre dedicated to the marble trade. This project, which is the result of collaboration between the Algerian group SONAREM, its training subsidiary Sonarem Ettakwine and the Italian associations Confindustria Marmomacchine and FAMMIP, enjoys the support of the authorities in both countries. ICE Algiers plays a key role in this initiative, which aims to position Algeria as a major marble processing player in Africa.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, an important meeting brought together the project's stakeholders in the presence of Mohamed Sakhr Harami, President of the SONAREM Group, and Flavio Marabelli, Honorary President of Confindustria Marmomacchine. This meeting symbolises the commitment of the two countries to develop lasting synergies in the field of technology and training related to the marble industry.
By turning resolutely towards innovation and international cooperation, Algeria intends to strengthen its position in the marble industry, while developing its resources and know-how.
