43.73 billion in exports by 2025: Hydrocarbons to drive growth

Significant revenues continue to be generated by oil and gas, enabling Algeria to pursue its economic reforms aimed at diversifying the domestic economy.

According to the 2025 Finance Bill (PLF), Algeria expects oil revenues to reach $43.73 billion in 2025, based on a reference price of $60 per barrel, while the market price is estimated at $70 for 2025-2027. Primary energy production is expected to reach 206 million tons of oil equivalent in 2025, supported by significant investments by Sonatrach to reach an annual output of 160 billion m³ of natural gas by 2030.

Economic growth is projected at 4.5% in 2025, with non-hydrocarbon growth reaching 5%. By sector, industry is forecast to grow by 6.2%, agriculture by 4.4% and construction by 4.3%. GDP is projected to increase from $278.71 billion in 2025 to $308.13 billion in 2027.

Budget expenditures for 2025 are estimated at DZD 16,794.61 billion, an increase of 9.9% from 2024. Budget revenues are expected to grow by 3.5% to reach DZD 8,523.06 billion. Petroleum tax revenues are projected to reach DZD 3,453.96 billion.
