3rd Edition of the 2026 Algiers Maritime Forum: Maritime Financing at the Heart of the Issues

On April 15, Algiers will host the 3rd edition of the Algiers Maritime Forum 2026, an event that is gradually establishing itself as a regional platform for strategic reflection on the maritime economy. This edition stands out for the introduction, for the first time in Algeria, of the theme of shipping finance, a key segment of international finance.

Held at the Mercure Alger Aéroport hotel, the event will bring together key players from the maritime and financial sectors, including public decision-makers, shipowners, investors, financial institutions and port operators. The aim is to examine the financing mechanisms for maritime transport and to analyse the changing economic models that shape this strategic sector.

Against a backdrop of accelerating modernisation, the issue of financing is emerging as a key driver for improving the competitiveness of stakeholders, supporting investment and optimising the management of maritime assets. Discussions will therefore focus on investment trends, the role of banks and specialist funds, as well as new forms of asset structuring and ownership.

Participants will also discuss the opportunities offered by public-private partnerships, cross-border investment and the development of emerging maritime hubs – all factors that are likely to reshape the sector’s balance of power at a regional level.

Over the course of its previous editions, the Algiers Maritime Forum has established itself as a platform for dialogue and partnership, helping to bring together public and private sector stakeholders and to strengthen Algeria’s strategic position in the maritime sector. This third edition aims to reach a new milestone by placing financing at the heart of the sector’s development priorities.
