The AAPI was represented by Ms Iman Toumi, alongside officials from Stellantis Algeria, at a meeting that brought together 117 Italian companies specialising in the manufacture of automotive components. These companies expressed strong interest in investing in Algeria, particularly in segments related to industrial subcontracting and automotive parts manufacturing. Organized by the Algerian Embassy in Rome in coordination with the Industrial Union of Turin, the event aimed to showcase investment opportunities in the Algerian market in industrial handling and automotive component manufacturing. During the meeting, representatives of Stellantis-Algeria outlined the group's industrial needs and plans, emphasising the importance of localising the components industry in Algeria. This policy aims to accelerate the local integration and sustainably strengthen the domestic automotive industry's value chain.
For its part, the AAPI presented participants with an overview of the investment climate in Algeria, the opportunities available, and the support and incentive mechanisms put in place by the State for investors wishing to set up local production units. The Agency also highlighted the advantages offered in terms of market access, institutional support and administrative facilitation. Furthermore, it was pointed out that the outcomes of this meeting are part of a broader drive to promote industrial partnerships. In this regard, the "Mecanica Algeria" trade fair will be held from 10 to 12 February 2026 in Oran, providing a practical platform dedicated to bringing together economic operators and boosting industrial cooperation in the automotive and mechanical engineering sectors.
