Speaking at the opening of the Algerian-Czech Business Forum in the presence of Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Jozef Sikela, as well as businessmen and organizations from both countries, Mr. Zaghdar stressed that "we must redouble our efforts to raise the level of economic and trade cooperation by taking advantage of opportunities and encouraging productive investments that can create wealth and diversify our economies through mutually profitable partnerships".
Recalling the volume of trade that did not exceed $204 million in 2021 despite "historic and privileged political relations in addition to the considerable capacities of the two countries", Mr. Zaghdar stressed "the need to establish cooperation likely to increase the volume of trade and economic while elevating bilateral relations to the highest level".
According to Mr. Zaghdar, the forum represents a new opportunity for economic operators in both countries "to build communication bridges for strengthening partnership in areas of common interest, and to strengthen our economic and trade relations".
On the other part, the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Jozef Sikela, stated that his visit to Algeria, at the head of a delegation composed of representatives of Czech companies pioneering in various fields, "indicates the particular interest that his country has given to the promotion of bilateral economic relations".
He also highlighted the significant number of promising opportunities for mutual cooperation in all areas, including energy and mining, infrastructure, transport, the agri-food industry, health care, the medicines industry and others.
The Czech Minister expressed his country’s interest in Algeria’s economic development plan, stressing the Czech Republic’s readiness to participate in the implementation of that plan.
The first day of the Algeria-Czech Republic business forum was marked by several interventions on the business climate in Algeria and investment.
The Forum will continue its work on Tuesday, where it will discuss investment opportunities in Algeria and some successful experiences in the field of private investment, in addition to the business climate in the Czech Republic.
