In a speech delivered on the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador said that Algerian-Chinese relations in various fields, particularly economic, represented a “model of cooperation”, recalling that these friendly relations date back to sixty years with the recognition by China, the first non-Arab country, of Algeria’s independence and the establishment by Algeria, the first Arab country, of a global strategic partnership in various fields.

“The visit of (Algerian) President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to China in July helped to identify many new areas and opportunities for economic, trade and investment cooperation,” he said, adding that “we are in Oran today to deepen bilateral cooperation.”

In a joint press briefing with the Wali of Oran on the sidelines of the Algerian-Chinese business forum, the Chinese ambassador said that “Chinese investment in Algeria is bound to be diversified in view of the many opportunities for cooperation offered and the favorable business climate.” 'Several areas of cooperation have already been exploited. However, there is still a multitude of sectors where we can work together like agriculture, fisheries, telecommunications, but also the automotive industry,' he said. “We reviewed with the Wali all the advantages and opportunities offered to Oran, a city that represents a regional and even national hub in terms of economic, trade and investment,” he said. Said Sayoud said Oran has many investment advantages, including energy availability, an international airport, three ports, a large road network, a strong industrial base to be developed, and a skilled workforce. “We want to further develop the two industrial zones of Bethioua which houses the iron and steel complex -Tosyali- and Tafraoui where the production plant of the automobile brand Fiat has been installed,” he said. The Algerian-Chinese business forum featured Be to Be meetings to discuss investment and partnership opportunities.
