Speaking
at a press briefing with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, President
Tebboune said that "the duration of this project is left to the estimation
of the technicians. Nevertheless, I believe it will be short, especially since
we have agreed on the pipeline project and have signed an agreement today, to
launch carry out the study."
President
Tebboune reiterated that the pipeline will also carry gas, electricity,
hydrogen and ammonia, and reaffirmed "the extreme importance of this
project, which will make Italy a hub for the distribution of these energy
products to Europe".
On
the other hand, Ms Meloni stressed the importance of her working and friendship
visit to Algeria, which comes on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the
signing of the Treaty of Freindship and Neighbourly Relations between the two
countries, adding that her country aspired to "the increase of Algerian
gas exports to Italy and, therefore, from Algeria to Europe".
