Zerrouki inspects Algeria Telecom Europe headquarters in Valencia

The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, visited the headquarters of Algeria Telecom Europe (ATE) in the Spanish city of Valencia, according to a statement released by the ministry on Saturday.

During this stop at the end of his visit to Spain, the minister inquired about the efficiency of the submarine optical fibre cable system connecting the national telecommunications network, from the two cities of Oran and Algiers, to the European network in Valencia, according to the same source.

On this occasion, Mr Zerrouki provided technical guidance to strengthen the performance of this strategic infrastructure and improve operation, in line with the rapid expansion of telecommunications.

The minister emphasised, in this regard, that ATE "will play a more active role in the European market in the next phase, as part of a strategy aimed at strengthening Algeria's presence in the international connection and communication network and developing its services in the telecommunications sector," the same source added.

Mr Zerrouki was accompanied on this visit by the Algerian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Mr Abdelfettah Daghmoum, according to the statement.
