At a conference dedicated to insurance experts, Youcef Benmicia, president of the UAR, called for the creation of a structure to oversee the profession (organization, association, or order) in order to modernize, structure, and defend the profession. He described the meeting as a defining moment for the development of insurance expertise in Algeria, as part of a strategic vision aimed at strengthening governance in the sector. He emphasised professionalisation, the definition of specialities, training, the standardisation of practices, and innovation through digitisation. The UAR has launched several reforms: reorganisation of the service, national mapping, creation of a professional card, and expansion of specialities to 27 areas, such as AI and the environment. The conference was expected to be a space for dialogue and consultation to structure the profession sustainably. The panels emphasised the importance of training, the requirement for university degrees, and the quality of expert reports.
