Algeria has been strengthening its non-hydrocarbon exports with growing momentum since the beginning of the year. Algerian products, such as concrete reinforcing bars, household appliances, textiles, paper, and plastic fibres, are exported to several regions worldwide, particularly Africa, Europe, and Asia. This development is characterized by product diversification and opening new markets, including Lithuania, Thailand, Vietnam, and Guatemala. Among the most notable transactions, more than 15,000 tons of concrete reinforcing bars were shipped from the port of Annaba to Lithuania, illustrating the potential of the Algerian steel sector and the logistical capabilities of the country's ports. Other exports included paper to Tunisia, plastic fibres to Egypt, carob derivatives to Asia and Central America, and household appliances and clothing to regional markets. These initiatives are part of the authorities' strategy to diversify the economy and increase non-hydrocarbon exports, which reached around $5 billion, a level significantly higher than in previous years.
