The Tunisian National Intercity Transport Company (SNTRI) has announced the launch of two new international routes connecting Tunisia to Algeria: Tunis–Algiers and Tunis–Annaba. These routes will be operated in coordination with the Algerian public company “El Djamiaya Linakl Oua El Khadamet,” a subsidiary of the Transtev Group.
The Tunis–Algiers route will begin on March 12, 2026, and will pass through El Kef, Tajerouine, Kalaat Senan, Constantine, Sétif, and Bordj Bou Arreridj. Two weekly departures are planned in each direction, on Thursdays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. The Tunis–Annaba route will begin on March 13, 2026, with an itinerary passing through Béja, Jendouba, Aïn Draham, Babouch, El Aioun, El Kala, Aïn Assel, and Ben M'Hidi. Four weekly rotations are scheduled in each direction, from Thursday to Sunday at 7 a.m.
Travellers must reserve in advance at certain bus stations or SNTRI agencies and present a valid passport. These new bus routes complement the flights and trains already available between the two countries and meet the high travel demand, particularly from Algerian tourists to Tunisia.
