The Minister announced that the 100% Algerian operating system, created by students and university researchers, aims to improve the performance and security of computer systems in Algeria, particularly by securing information systems. This system, which promotes the development of an open technological economy, will also enable the creation of numerous software start-ups. He also praised the University of Saïda for its role in innovation.

The Minister honoured the three winning student teams of the first edition of the national competition for the creation of the Algerian operating system, called "Linux Distribution", organised by the University of Saïda in collaboration with the National Commission for Free Software.
