Sidi Abdallah: Insurance sector launches innovation and AI hub

The Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR), in partnership with specialized academic and technical institutions, launched an innovation and artificial intelligence (AI) hub on Thursday at the Chahid Abdelhafid-Ihaddaden Science and Technology Hub in the new town of Sidi Abdallah. The hub will serve as a link between academia and research and the national economy, particularly the financial sector.

An innovation hub dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) in insurance sector has been officially launched under the supervision of the Minister of Higher Education, Kamel Baddari. This project aims to bring the university closer to the business world by training and recruiting specialized students to develop innovative digital solutions tailored to the sector's needs. Several academic institutions and research centres, including ENSM, ENSIA, the Center for Applied Mathematics Research, and Algeria Finlab, signed an agreement to create the hub. This hub is part of the national strategy to develop a knowledge economy for the period 2024-2029, promoting local human capital. Through this initiative, the Algerian Insurance Union (UAR) plans to develop specialized courses, set up an investment fund, and create an innovation management institute to structure the sector's professions over the next five years.
