Algeria attended this economic event through a national pavilion organised by the ministry, bringing together several companies and economic operators active in the agri-food and agricultural products sectors, according to the same source.
This participation culminated in two Algerian companies signing export contracts for local products destined for the European market, notably olive oil, fruit and vegetables, as well as a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the export of Algerian olive oil to the Chinese market – a move likely to open up new opportunities for Algerian products in Asian markets, the same source added.
"Several business meetings were held during the event at the Algerian pavilion between national operators and their counterparts from various countries, with a view to exploring partnership opportunities and strengthening the presence of Algerian products on international markets," according to the statement.
This participation forms part of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion’s efforts to support economic operators and strengthen the presence of Algerian products in foreign markets, with a view to promoting non-hydrocarbon exports and broadening the national export base, the statement concludes.
