Like other coastal cities, Aïn Témouche, Oran, Mostaganem, Boumerdes, Skikda have attracted a record number of holidaymakers this year. This is confirmed by many tourism specialists, concerned about the diversification and promotion of domestic tourism products, one of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, Maher Houmour, President of the Algerian Tourism Organization, in a statement to El Moudjahid believes that ‘Algerian travellers have chosen more attractive cities this season for relaxing moments, despite some shortcomings mainly linked to the lack of infrastructure’.  In a nutshell, he will say that "domestic tourism has seen the strongest recovery this year since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic." To this end, he highlighted "the efforts made by the authorities for the development of the tourism sector, whether public or private through the promotion of internal destinations”.
