On the final day of the African Conference on Artificial Intelligence (December 5-7, 2024), the AI Summit was held, bringing together experts and decision-makers to discuss innovations in this field. The Minister for the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups, and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, also visited an exhibition dedicated to start-ups.

During the event, Professor Merouane Debbah, Chairman of the AI Scientific Council presented the first National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, based on the following priorities: research, skills development, support for start-ups, creation of data centres and prioritization of sectors such as security, agriculture, industry, and healthcare.

Minister Noureddine Ouadah stressed the importance of appropriate human and material support to ensure Algeria's position among the leading nations in this field. He recalled the progress made, notably with the creation of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Intelligence Artificielle (ENSIA) and the Conseil Scientifique de l'AI (AI Scientific Council).

This ambitious project, involving several sectors, represents a first strategic step towards integrating AI into Algeria's economic and social development.
