Oran: operating permits issued to 14 new hotels in Oran

The Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Houria Meddahi, held a ceremony in Oran on Saturday to hand over operating permits to 14 new hotels in the wilaya.

Tourism Minister Houria Meddahi announced that new hotel structures would be opened in Oran, adding 1,800 beds to the wilaya's tourist capacity, which will thus reach nearly 24,000 beds. This expansion will also create 540 jobs, boosting the appeal of tourism and the local economy.

 

This initiative is part of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's strategy to lift restrictions on investment projects to boost the tourism sector. In addition, 65 hotels across the country, including "Le Grand Hôtel" in Oran, have benefited from public funding for their rehabilitation. The Minister praised the quality of the restoration work at this 5-star hotel, which was carried out using local materials and national vocational training.

 

Among the new establishments inaugurated is the "2H" hotel in Oran city centre, with 390 beds and 125 created jobs.
