It was in this context that the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Amel Abdellatif, chaired a coordination meeting on Monday, bringing together several employer and economic organisations.
Local markets across 69 provinces
Representatives from the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), the National Union of Public Contractors, the Association of Algerian Beverage Producers, the National Confederation of Algerian Employers, the Club of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists, and the Algerian Confederation of Citizen Employers took part in the meeting. The meeting was attended by the presidents and directors of public economic groups, along with ministry executives and heads of agencies under its supervision.
The discussions resulted in consensus on the effective mobilisation of economic operators and public groups in local markets, which is scheduled to begin next week across 69 wilayas. This approach aims to bring essential products closer to citizens, increase their availability and help maintain market balance during the month of Ramadan. On this occasion, Ms Abdellatif praised the commitment of economic operators who have joined the price reduction initiatives during the holy month. She stressed that these actions reflect a high sense of social responsibility and civic spirit, providing significant support for efforts to stabilise the market and preserve consumer purchasing power.
