The Minister of Industry Wants to Strengthen Industrial Zones
Yahia Bachir, Minister of Industry, emphasized on Thursday in Sidi Bel-Abbes, “the importance of enhancing the attractiveness of industrial zones and diversifying industrial activities to boost economic growth.”
During his visit to Sidi Bel-Abbès, the Minister of Industry highlighted the importance of supporting productive investment and diversifying industrial activities, focusing on their role in economic growth and job creation. He emphasized the need to accelerate the development of industrial zones and their connection to essential infrastructure, while encouraging investment in subcontracting, automotive parts, and the electronics industry.
The industrial zone in question spans 54 hectares with 88 lots, 46 of which are designated for investment, with a budget exceeding 1.5 billion dinars. The minister also visited several companies, including Famag Sonalika, which specializes in tractor production with a capacity of 5,000 units per year, calling for an expansion of its capabilities through better coordination with the ministry.
He also inspected ENIE, a major player in the electronics industry, urging the establishment of partnerships to increase production. The visit included a research and development laboratory as well as a company specializing in the manufacture of agricultural equipment.
