The issue examined by the Government: Algeria prepares to launch 5G

According to a press release from the Prime Minister's office on Wednesday, the government examined the case for launching a fifth-generation (5G) mobile network.

"The government heard a presentation on the preparations for the project to launch fifth-generation mobile networks, considering them to be an important lever for economic and industrial development in Algeria, for improving access to digital public services and for digital transformation", reads the press release.

Since the post-Covid-19 pandemic, Algeria has been preparing to launch the technology, to stimulate technological innovation and create new opportunities for developing innovative solutions.

Public operator Mobilis had already announced before that it had begun 5G tests and the deployment of 5G infrastructures.
