“In line with its development strategy and investment policy, which has been in place since its establishment in 1993, Laiterie Soummam inaugurated new production lines at the start of 2026, incorporating both industrial processes and packaging units,” the dairy stated in its press release.
“These new facilities enable a significant increase in production capacity, particularly for UHT milk, drinking yoghurt, processed cheese and fresh cheese in tubs,” she added, emphasising that “this commissioning is part of an ongoing, far-reaching investment programme that has been underway for several years across the entire dairy supply chain.”
Over 4 billion dinars in investment
The company noted that by 2025, “two production lines equipped with thermoforming machines had already been set up, enabling the launch of the Skyr and Greek ranges and helping to expand the range of high-value-added products”.
With a total value of over 4 billion dinars, these investments have created 130 additional direct jobs, bringing the company’s workforce to 2,200 employees, she said.
