CNED launches its development plan

The National Development Equipment Fund (CNED), a key public player in the management and monitoring of major economic and social infrastructure projects in Algeria, is reorganizing its operations to optimize its activities and expand its scope. To this end, it has launched a call for expressions of interest to recruit a consulting firm.

The call for expressions of interest, published on the institution's official website, concerns an assistance project to assess the CNED situation and propose a development plan. The consulting firm that is selected will be required to provide "assistance and advice to the Project Management Unit (PMU), to which it will report on the actions to be taken over a period of approximately six months," the call for expressions of interest states. This will involve drawing up an organisational assessment, a development plan and a business plan, as well as updating internal procedures, according to the Caisse, which emphasises that to cover the cost of this assistance project, it plans to use part of the grant obtained by Algeria from the African Development Bank (AfDB) group under the technical assistance fund for middle-income countries. It is also specified that interested consulting firms must submit expressions of interest by March 11 at the latest. A public industrial and commercial institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, the National Development Equipment Fund has the key tasks of ensuring greater efficiency in government equipment spending, diversifying sources of financing and optimising the cost of major projects, as well as improving the processes for evaluating, implementing and monitoring infrastructure projects requiring the mobilisation of significant financial and human resources.
