Kamel Oukaci appointed new Director General of the ONS

Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb appointed Kamel Oukaci as Director General of the National Statistics Office (ONS) on Tuesday, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister's office.

Professor Oukaci, who holds a doctorate in economics and is a former lecturer and researcher at the University of Bejaïa, was mentioned in a press release issued by the APS news agency. On this occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to modernize the national statistical system, in line with the President of the Republic's guidelines and integrated with new technologies for the production, processing, and use of statistics. He also stressed the importance of territorializing the statistical system and ensuring its interoperability to use data for the development of economic, social, and environmental public policies.
