As part of the monitoring of projects registered with the agency, its Director General, Omar Rekkache, paid a visit to the site. The project is being carried out by the company ‘Spa Algerian Qatari Healthcare Services Company’. The visit took place in the presence of several officials, including the Director General of the National Investment Fund, Salah Laabni, and representatives from various relevant ministries.

According to the press release, this project is one of “the strategic healthcare projects currently underway in Algeria”. The hospital will have a capacity of 300 beds, including “modern operating theatres, intensive care units, advanced medical imaging centres and modern laboratories”, as well as fully equipped specialist departments.

The AAPI states that this facility is part of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s commitment to establishing ‘a hospital designed to international standards’ to treat complex medical conditions. These include specialities such as neurosurgery, spinal surgery, liver transplants and paediatric cardiac surgery, which until now required patients to be transferred abroad.
