The Société d'Investissement Hôtelier (SIH) (Hotel investment company), for example, unveiled its major projects on Friday at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Sheraton Club des Pins, led by CEO Chalel Smail. “A hotel that has set new national and regional standards. It remains a symbol of Algerian hospitality, as it has hosted the most important national and international events”, he said.
Malek Hacid, general manager of the Sheraton Club des Pins, adds: "As we celebrate our past, we have also looked to the future with enthusiasm. Our continued pursuit of excellence and our commitment to delivering ever-better service. I'm delighted to announce that 2025 will bring exciting new openings and surprises.
These additions will further enhance our guests' experience and strengthen our position as a leader in luxury hospitality. SIH, owner and manager of the Sheraton Club des Pins, has set itself the strategic objective of supporting Algeria's tourism sector through its chain of major hotels spread across several cities in the country, such as the Hyatt Regency-Algiers Airport (still under management contract), Renaissance Tlemcen, Four Points Oran, Sheraton Annaba, Mariott Constantine, which has been converted from a management contract to a franchise, and the large Cirta hotel, which has been expanded and restored to international standards and will be inaugurated in the coming weeks. It represents a qualitative addition to the company, given its historical value.
Sofitel Thalassa, a jewel by the sea
The most eagerly awaited project is the Sofitel Thalassa Hotel, which will be "the largest tourist complex in Algeria dedicated to seawater treatments". This unique hotel will be the locomotive of medical tourism in our country because it will offer specialised therapeutic services using natural materials and will strengthen Algeria's position as a destination for care and relaxation at an international level," says Chalel.
He added “Our mission is not to build and manage hotels. We believe that tourism allows economic growth and sustainable development, and in this context, we are working with our partners and the authorities to improve tourism infrastructure and provide services that meet the expectations of visitors”.
A hotel project in Boumerdès has been added to the SIH's "portfolio to strengthen Algeria's presence on the world tourism map". He cited "the leading role of the two training schools affiliated to the SIH, Eshra Alger and Oran, which train qualified managers and thus raise the level of quality". This success would not have been possible without the support of the State, which has made the development of tourism and the hotel industry one of its strategic priorities".
SIH's CEO announced a new roadmap adopted a few weeks ago and to be put into practice from October onwards, with “the aim of offering exceptional experiences that make our hotels the leading destination inside and outside Algeria”, praising the continued support of shareholders who have “played a fundamental role in increasing our capacity and developing the company”.
