On this occasion, the two parties reviewed many of the areas that could form the basis of a partnership between Algerian and Tunisian companies, such as textiles and leather, pharmaceuticals, the food industry (particularly natural oils) and automotive parts.
A joint export base to Africa
To this end, Mr. Gherieb called for "the creation of a joint task force to draw up a roadmap and identify all possible areas of cooperation and partnership between Algeria and Tunisia in the public and private sectors.
The press release also states that this roadmap will include promoting the border areas to form a joint export base, particularly to African markets.
For his part, the Tunisian minister expressed his country's desire to integrate and strengthen the bilateral partnership by expanding the presence of Algerian institutions in Tunisia and Tunisian institutions in Algeria, and by stepping up coordination between the organizations supporting and accompanying investment in the two countries.
