During the B-to-B meetings between economic operators, the HTT group recalled a historical fact: Algeria is home to the second-largest heritage of Roman remains in the world after Italy. Entire cities, listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, bear witness to the grandeur of ancient Rome in North Africa. These include Djemila, an architectural masterpiece adapted to the mountainous terrain; Timgad, nicknamed "the Pompeii of North Africa", a city with a typically Roman urban layout; Tipasa, a unique ensemble where Roman ruins hug the Mediterranean coastline; and the Basilica of Saint Augustine (Annaba), a jewel of early Christianity dedicated to one of the most influential Fathers of the Church.
This participation is part of the group's vision to "position Algeria as a destination for lovers of Roman history, foster partnerships with Italian operators specializing in cultural tourism and the restoration of archaeological sites, promote investment projects in hotel and tourist infrastructures around heritage sites, and contribute to economic diversification through the development of a tourism offering".
The HTT Group's presence in Rome goes beyond mere commercial logic. This shared Roman heritage can be a lever for building new cooperative ventures.
This participation, coupled with the presidential visit, marks a new chapter in economic cooperation, built on a thousand-year-old historical link. The HTT Group intends to make Algeria's Roman heritage a major attraction for international investors and tourists.
