The exhibition’s organiser, Ahmed Haniche, told APS that these agreements were signed between national operators from public and private institutions and their foreign counterparts. They cover several sectors, including the export of products to African countries, such as building materials, household appliances and services.

On this occasion, according to the same official, two direct export agreements were signed with Tunisia and Mauritania concerning building materials, timber and timber products.

Investment agreements have also been signed to construct factories and production facilities in various industrial sectors, particularly building materials and household appliances, in several African countries, including Guinea, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

This year’s event, organised by the communications agency Sunflower and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry, brought together 153 national and international exhibitors, including around 130 Algerian companies, accounting for over 80% of the participants.

There were also foreign companies and subsidiaries of international firms based in Algeria, notably from China, Italy, Turkey and India.

Over the course of four days, this business event brought together importers from Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania and Pakistan. They aimed to establish commercial partnerships with local companies and to open up new opportunities for the export of Algerian products.

In addition, around thirty chargés d’affaires, representing some thirty embassies accredited in Algeria, Africa, Asia and Europe, were also in attendance. They had come to explore opportunities for direct investment and to promote Algerian exports.

The event attracted a large number of professionals, with over 15,000 visitors from across the country, including businesspeople and representatives of diplomatic missions.

According to the same source, there was also a significant number of students and young entrepreneurs interested in setting up micro-enterprises in various sectors.

Award-winning companies

On the sidelines of the exhibition, five Algerian public and private companies were honoured at a competition to select the best projects having a positive impact in the fields of the economy, the environment, sustainable development, innovation and exports.

Through this initiative, the organisers sought to foster a spirit of competitiveness among our companies, with a view to raising their organisational and production standards to international levels.

The event also featured seminars and panel discussions on several key themes, such as renewable energy, industrial development through supply chains, logistics and export support, sustainable industry and carbon reduction, smart energy demand management, economic partnerships, investment promotion and export development.

Finally, it is worth noting that the same venue hosted the African Construction, Infrastructure and Technology Fair, held under the theme ‘Innovation, technology and construction for the Africa of tomorrow’.

The event was attended by institutions and operators from Algeria and other African countries specialising in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure and urban planning f.
