663 hotels under construction in Algeria
According to the FNHT president in Algiers on Sunday, 663 hotels are currently under construction in Algeria, spread across several wilayas.
The Fédération Nationale de l'Hôtellerie et du Tourisme (FNHT) (National Federation of Hotels and Tourism) has 557 hotels in 52 wilayas, according to its president, Abdelouahab Boulefkhad. He reports that 663 hotels are under construction, 1,013 have not yet been launched, 471 are on hold and 96 have been completed.
Representations in 52 wilayas and agreement with CNMA
Created in 2022, the Federation's role is to defend the interests of its members, without distinction between the public and private sectors, hotel chains and family-run SMEs. It also aims to be a driving force behind proposals and is committed to being an interlocutor, particularly with the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts, and a responsible and essential partner in tune with the strategic challenges facing the hotel industry, tourism and the sector's sustainable development. Since its creation, the association has taken part in several events and commissions, thus ensuring the creation of a forum for exchange and consultation.
Its achievements include setting up representative offices in 52 wilayas and organizing study days focusing on financing mechanisms for tourism and hotel projects. It regularly attends international trade fairs and exhibitions in all wilayas. It also maintains a constant presence on various communication channels and monitors hotel establishments throughout the country, particularly those under construction. Finally, the federation welcomes foreign delegations and personalities, introducing them to our country's heritage and rich tourist culture.
Last summer, a framework partnership agreement was signed with the Caisse Nationale de mutualité agricole (CNMA) to provide cover against all risks relating to the federation's activities and assets. Through its network of 70 regional mutuals and over 550 local offices, CNMA Assurance undertakes to provide insurance cover against all risks relating to the FNHT's activities and assets. It also offers benefits and preferential rates to support the tourism and hospitality sector.
