The 28th edition of the International Health Exhibition (SIMEM) reaffirms its strategic role in healthcare in Algeria and North Africa.
Strengthening Algeria's role in Africa's health ecosystem
In a time of digital transformation, the integration of artificial intelligence technologies, and the modernization of healthcare facilities, SIMEM become a true barometer of the changes sweeping through the healthcare system. Yamina Chaouche, director of the trade show, affirms that "SIMEM is now much more than a trade show. It has become a space where technological innovation, medical expertise, and international cooperation come together, strengthening Algeria's role in the African healthcare ecosystem."
According to a press release, this edition brings together 188 exhibitors representing more than 520 companies from 36 countries, highlighting the growing interest of manufacturers in the Algerian market. Leading companies from China, Turkey, Italy, Germany and India will present innovations in hospital equipment, medical devices, imaging technologies, diagnostic solutions and digital platforms for healthcare facility management.
Promoting domestic production
The exhibition also highlights advances in domestic production. Several Algerian companies will showcase their solutions, including laboratory reagents, technical equipment and certain medical devices, illustrating a rapidly growing local industry. In addition, several scientific conferences are scheduled at SIMEM, which provides a forum for scientific discussion. The Scientific Days will bring together experts, professors and practitioners to discuss cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, medical biology, oncology, specialised surgery, medical imaging and artificial intelligence applied to diagnosis and patient care.
At the same time, the Talk & Show platform will offer discussion sessions on contemporary issues in medical practice and healthcare organisation. Several topics will be addressed, including the transformation of the healthcare system, technological developments and challenges related to training and international cooperation. Over the years, SIMEM has established itself as a regional hub for medical and scientific innovation, promoting the transfer of know-how, the development of industrial and scientific partnerships, and the emergence of new opportunities for the sector. This dynamic consolidates Algeria's place in the African healthcare ecosystem at a time when technology and research are redefining the medicine of tomorrow.
