Mohamed-Yazid Hambli: “The agricultural sector suffers from a lack of human resources”

"Moving towards optimal performance for our agriculture, through its modernization, is a necessity," says Mohamed Yazid Hambli, president of the National Chamber of Agriculture.

Speaking on Wednesday morning, Mohamed Yazid Hambli explained that "the most important element in implementing this policy is the human resource" and that means training executives, engineers, trainers, advisors, and agricultural extension practitioners.  


Mr. Hambli said that unfortunately Algeria had stopped training, especially the technicians and senior technicians, long ago when the market was demanding. "Currently there is a significant shortage of human resources in the agricultural sector," he adds.


In the same context, the President of the National Chamber of Agriculture, cites the great company of investment in the Saharan rangelands, through the creation of large farms, which requires competent people for adequate supervision. The reality, he regretted, was that there was no human resource available to oversee these new operations.
