Algeria is working on a project for an electricity corridor linking Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. A memorandum of understanding will soon be signed to launch the necessary studies. This project will open up new opportunities for exporting electricity to these neighbouring countries. Sonelgaz also aims to support ECOWAS countries in the energy field, notably by exporting its know-how in engineering, constructing power grids and selling locally manufactured industrial equipment.

In addition, the power plant donated by Algeria to Niger should be commissioned before summer 2025 to meet the country's urgent energy needs. A submarine cable linking northeastern Algeria to southern Italy is being studied for the Algerian-Italian power interconnection project. This strategic project, initiated with Sonatrach and Italy's ENI, would give Algeria access to the European electricity market. Its development requires technical, economic, commercial and environmental assessments.
